Blutlaich (German for Blood Spawn) was created by the husband wife team of Ken and Ryo Pike. Hailing from America, Blutlaish combines EDM with industrial metal, Goth and techno to bring a German/European feel to their music.

Ken is a singer/songwriter and has been performing most all his life. He's performed in several popular bands as front man over the years to include Turnpike and Absolon. He was more recently the vocalist for the popular Florida based epic metal band Firesphere where he was known as Priest. A traditional metal singer by trade, Blutlaich is quite the departure from what he has been used too. His love for German industrial metal, in the style of Rammstein and Lord of the Lost, eventually directed him down the path of creating Blutlaich with his wife Ryo. Ken has gone through a transformation when it comes to his vocals. Where once he sang traditional heavy metal, with its high operatic soaring notes, he's now having to sing in a much lower register, almost guttural. "It has been a challenge to change my singing style to fit this new project but, I'm getting there", he has said.  Ken is American-German.

Ryo is simply an extraordinary talent. She is a singer, a songwriter, performer and composer for TV and films. She is Japanese and was born and lived most her life in Tokyo, Japan. Ryo moved to the United States in 2015 after she and Ken were married and now lives in Florida. She was well known in Japan, composing music for documentaries, films, anime movies and even Japan's national news organization. Ryo was also the vocalist, along with Ken, in Firesphere. Being well versed in a number of genres, she is exceptionally good at writing the sort of music Blutlaich is doing. Ryo is the primary songwriter in the project and sings as well. Ken adds the melody and lyrics. Together, they make a great songwriting team and give life to Blutlaich.

Video for the song Dunkelheit

Blutlaich is hard at work on their first EP titled "Durch Den Spiegel Gehen." The goal is to write seven songs and one instrumental.

We've commissioned the services of Big Rig Media in California to create us a professional looking logo. Stay tuned.

Blutlaich has been receiving radio play on a few stations in Germany getting our music out to numerous countries in Europe. Big shout out to Joachim from FlyFlew Radio and Gesine from HaZZard of Darkness Radio (both out of Germany) for giving Blutlaich a lot of radio play.

Check out the new Blutlaich logo (at top of this page) created by Big Rig Media in California. We are very pleased with it and feel it represents what Blutlaich is about.

Blutlaich added another release from, what will be, their first EP, entitled Dunkelheit.

Listen to Blutlaich new release, Tote Mich.

Instrumental Roter Himmel (Red Sky) added rounding out Blutlaich first EP.
